Can I transfer members from meetup.com?
There is a way to import members from your existing meetup.com group.
HOWEVER! The member export from Meetup does NOT include email addresses of all your members - so you must notify them separately of the change.
Detailed instructions about that process are available after you set up your group.
How will new people find my group?
It's true that the MeetingPlace network isn't huge yet, so we're spreading the word in two (optional) ways:
1. Event aggregators
There are several event sites (like Eventful) that aggregate local events. If you're on a MeetingPlace paid plan, we can cross-post events for your group, so thousands of people will see your events!
2. Direct outreach
As we're growing MeetingPlace, we're hard at work letting groups and members around the world know that there are new groups to join here! If you'd like us to include your group in an outreach campaign, let us know.
What alternatives are there?
If MeetingPlace doesn't meet your needs, there are similar services where you can organize groups and events:
